Specialists

  • A member of CSBC
  • Under age 65 at time of enrolment
  • Actively working a minimum of 24 hours per week
  • Residing in Canada

Medical Office Staff

  • Must be employed by a medical office participating in this plan
  • Under the age of 65 at time of enrolment
  • Actively working for the medical office at least 24 hours per week
  • Medical staff must be enrolled within 3 months of employment and must complete a 3 month waiting period

Mandatory benefits like Life and Dependent Life help stabilize insurer risk and maintain group plan premiums.

Mandatory benefits ensure a strong foundation of protection for everyone in the plan. Optional benefits give employees the flexibility to add coverage that suits their individual circumstances without increasing costs for the full group.

The following optional benefits are available to personalize your protection.

  1. Long-Term Disability (LTD)
  2. Health Spending Account
  3. Employee Assistance Program
  4. Medical Second Opinion
  5. Virtual Care
  • If you are applying as only a Specialist (ie. no employees), your coverage is effective on the 1st of the month following medical approval
  • If you are applying with more than 1 individual (ie. Specialist and at least 1 more employee), your coverage is effective on the 1st of the next month of applying for coverage

An eligible dependent means:

  • your legal or common-law spouse, or
  • your unmarried children under age 22, or under age 25 if they are a full-time student

Dependents must enroll in the plan unless they have alternative coverage with another insurance company

If you experience a life event, such as marriage or common-law partnership; birth or adoption of a child; loss of spousal coverage; or divorce or separation, please contact RWAM csr-groupadmin@rwam.com to obtain a change form.

  • All benefits (except Long-Term Disability) terminate at age 75
  • Long-Term Disability terminates at age 65

The plan renews annually. At renewal, premiums and plan design may be reviewed and adjusted based on claims experience, plan usage, and insurer guidelines.

Rates typically change at the annual renewal. Changes can occur if the insurer adjusts premiums based on claims trends, demographic shifts, or modifications to the plan.

A Health Evidence form is required when:

  • You apply for coverage for fewer than 2 employees, and
  • If applying 90 days after the enrolment date (late applicant)
